OUR THREE NUGGETS - 12/5/22
Hello JSS Families,
Nugget #1 - MR. WAYNE JOHNSTON
Our 7th grade Science teacher Mr. Johnston was recently involved in a motorcycle accident on his way to work. Thank goodness he was ok, with the exception of some broken bones and a destroyed motorcycle. Mr. Johnston loves working at JSS so much, when he received his insurance settlement he decided to donate the money to our school and purchase JSS spirit t-shirts for every student! Please join me in thanking him for his generosity and feel free to send him a message at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nugget #2 - PROGRESS REPORTS
We are in the process of mailing out progress reports this week. Remember, you are able to view your student’s progress online by logging into your AERIES account. We also mail out copies as a courtesy and you should see them by the end of next week.
Nugget #3 - SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC)
We are looking for three parents to be a part of our School Site Council (SSC). School Site Councils are required in all schools in California. It's a committee of teachers, parents, and school staff that works with the school principal to plan for the needs of the school. Meetings are once a month, normally from 3:30-4:30pm. The major duty of the SSC is to develop and then annually update the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), a formal plan for the school that satisfies both state and federal program requirements. Follow this link for more information - How Do SchoolSite Councils Work? Please contact me if you have any questions are want to be a part of our team!
ONGOING - Minimum Day Reminder
There is a minimum day this WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7. Students are dismissed at 1:15pm..
Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions, thoughts, or concerns. We are here for you!
